Since the Green Bean first opened back in 2005, there have been loads of people who have played a part in its mission to be a space that fosters community. Every so often I am stopped by a customer who takes a moment to share what the Bean has meant to them, and it is in these interactions that I am able to see just how special this place is.

There are hundreds of other stories to tell- and we are attempting to collect as many as we can. If you would like to share with us what the Green Bean has meant to you, please email your story to manager@greenbeancoffee.org.

“…The inviting space relishes ease; it harvests fellowship and community—encompassing all walks, and is especially rewarding for those attuned to such. I feel safe here, cared for, acknowledged.” –excerpt from a friend of the Bean

Greenwood Christian Church started helping out with the GreenBean to get to know the community better. We took the afternoon shift. I, do to my husbands work schedule started coming in early. Since I love baking, I took over the cookie dough making for the Bean. I’ve loved meeting all of the people there and have made some (hopefully) lasting friendships. The Bean has been a type of life safer for me as I get out of the house once a week and make “my dough”. Most people know me as the cookie dough lady. I’m there most Wednesdays and would love to say hello.
